Lake, Vines & Mountain Views

Keowee Vineyards takes its name from the native muscadine vines that still wind through the property. When The Cliffs laid it out, the best lake frontage went to the shared spaces: the golf course, a park, trails and the restaurant all sit on the water.

It is the most established of the three Cliffs lake communities, now about 25 years in, so trees are mature and the club runs like a small town. Days move between the marina, the barn and the first tee.

The land climbs to about 1,200 feet, and summers average in the mid-80s. Roughly 10 miles of nature trails cross creeks and woods inside the gates.

Eight Holes on the Water

Tom Fazio opened Keowee Vineyards in 1999, his first course at The Cliffs. Eight holes run along Lake Keowee, others look out to the Blue Ridge, and the 17th is a long par 3 Fazio has called the most scenic hole in the state.
